Description

Situated in the lovely Elandsdrift Valley, in Muldersdift, bordering the Cradle of Humankind, the Stables are an easy distance from the suburbs of Fourways, Krugersdorp and Honeydew.

Shepherd’s Fold Stables has been in business for 20 years and with the addition of the Riding School just 8 years ago, it has gone from strength to strength.

Shepherd’s Fold moved out from Honeydew in 2006 when the countryside was overtaken by the City. The “New” Farm has proved ideal for horses and clients alike, who appreciate the natural unspoilt setting, the ample grazing and the wonderful outrides.

OUTRIDES
Fabulous outrides for experienced or inexperienced riders, with super trails through rivers, bird sanctuaries and bushveld. Experienced horses make this a wonderful way to see nature at its best.

All rides are supervised by an experienced rider, and grooms are available to lead if required, at a nominal cost. Outrides are 1.5 hours or 3 hours.

Breakfast Outrides:
Fantastic scenery and quiet trails are the order of the day. Return to nature on the back of a horse.

An hour and a half outride followed by a delicious, full English breakfast whilst sitting on the stoep of the old farmhouse overlooking the Elandsdrift valley.
Bring the family members along, to join us and enjoy the Breakfast.

PONY CAMPS
The emphasis is on a fun learning experience for all kids interested in horses. The programme consists of riding lessons, outrides, ‘hands on’ care of horses, activities, lectures, and games.

No previous riding experience is required as all riding abilities are catered for, in a safe environment. We take children from 3 to 16 years. All activities are supervised by experienced instructors.

RIDING SCHOOL
Beginner’s aged 3 to 5 years:
We cater for children aged from 3 to 5 years in special 'beginners’ classes. These lessons are designed to teach the children the basics of riding, whilst having fun. The children are taught in a safe environment with an experienced instructor. The Lesson consists of 15 minutes of teaching and 15 minutes of supervised ‘free’ time. All riders aged 6 to 65 years:
Private or group lessons available, on weekdays and weekends. Private lessons can be for ½ hour or 1 hour. Group lesson are 45 minutes, with between 2 and 5 riders. We teach English Style riding in all disciplines. More information on request.
