Nail that Audition
Audition & Casting Workshop
Held once a month, this three-hour workshop is designed to help models and actors learn how to ‘own’ their auditions. Taking a look at the audition process, participants learn how to read the clues from their briefs, plan their performances, and stun their audience with a knock out audition . Slating/on camera introductions, non-verbal castings, reaction shots, and delivering dialogue are all covered in this intensive session. The class is one three-hour session held on a Saturday afternoon.
Becoming an Actor
12 Week Course
This comprehensive course is designed to give aspiring actors a strong foundation in the technique of ‘psychological realism’, a technique utilised by most on-screen actors. The group works on new scenes every two weeks from theatre, film and TV. We then learn how to find the character’s objectives and obstacles; use endowment and substitution to make our scenes feel real; create a sense of place and privacy; as well as using our own ‘history’ to align with our character. Let’s learn to create characters that feel like living, breathing human beings and at the same time, learn more about ourselves. Classes take place every Saturday morning for 12 weeks.
Kiddies Acting Class
Kiddies Acting Workshop
This is an ongoing workshop where kids between the ages of 7 and 13 will have the opportunity to learn the art of acting. This is not like a a traditional drama class in that the focus is on developing the child’s sense of confidence and self-knowledge, helping them to become authentically ‘themselves’ when on camera. The emphasis is on fun and spontaneity! Classes takes place every Saturday morning, and kids can sign up on a month-to-month basis.
