Our vision is to empower children and adults with life skills, improving their health and well being through functional exercise and empowering them with the best self defense skills in a safe controlled environment.
Karate and Kickboxing training in a safe controlled injury free southern suburbs environment and getting fit, toned & stronger with this great Self defense system brought to you by Ian Arendse.
Our structured program has helped introverted children overcome shyness and timidity, while giving extroverted children a safe, healthy environment in which to compete. Anxious or worried children can become more confident and assertive while overly aggressive children can learn to control their anger and begin to understand that fighting is non-productive.
These programs have proven to be highly successful and are recommended for children needing OT and suffering from ADD and ADHD. The skills and confidence that this martial arts provide may also contribute to a child’s feeling of being a unique part of something out of the ordinary. We also focus on additional life skill talks and activities to empower our youth.
KICK BOXING TRAINING
If you're stuck in a workout rut or looking for a motivating fitness routine, you might consider adding a high-energy kickboxing workout to the schedule. Kickboxing workouts combine martial arts techniques with heart-pumping cardio, which means you can get a total body workout and whip yourself into shape in no time.

SELF DEFENCE TRAINING
With the recent attacks and scares in our neighbourhood against children and nannies, the Shorin-Ji Martial Arts and Fitness Centre has once again after over 40 years of empowering women and children, introduced a self defence class empowering moms, nannies, grannies, children and anyone else who would like to be empowered.
Our self-protection and situational awareness program will empower you to be more aware of your surroundings and know what to look out for and what not to be doing.
You will also be taught how to use every day items that are carried with you or in your home as a weapon. Our program teaches simple but effective self defence techniques to all ages.
